Which of the thyroid medicines was it and how much does Bo weigh, please?

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
25 lbs.. levothyroxine 125 mg
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
There no symptoms..he's acting fine
Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Michael Salkin, Veterinarian replied 6 months ago

Thank you. 125 micrograms, I believe. Even 9 of those pills wouldn't cause any adverse effects in dogs. One time overdoses of levothyroxine are very well tolerated even when ingested in excess. There's no need to induce emesis or treat in any manner. Please respond with further questions or concerns.

Please clarify if it were a 9 or 90 day supply, please.

90
Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Michael Salkin, Veterinarian replied 6 months ago

90 x 0.125 mg = 11 mg That's about a 10X dose for him which will be well tolerated. You're quite welcome. Please continue our conversation if you wish.
