Having trouble with stairs...

Having trouble with stairs. Started just yesterday. Going down especially but also having trouble going up. He probably has renal disease too, the incontinence is suddenly much worse.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. What is wrong with the dog?

Should I take him to emergency?

Veterinarian's Assistant: Where does the dog seem to hurt?

Seems he can't bend at the hips. But it's odd.

Veterinarian's Assistant: OK. No obvious pain. Can you see anything that looks wrong or different?

Only with his motion.

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is the dog eating normally?

Yes

Veterinarian's Assistant: OK. No appetite problems. Is the dog having trouble peeing or pooing?

He's peeing A LOT. no poop problems. He can walk okay, but bam he's having problems with stairs

Veterinarian's Assistant: What is the dog's name and age?

Bagoas, Mini schnauzer / lab mix. Seven

Veterinarian's Assistant: What is the dog's name?

Name Bagoas. Almost 8 years.

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about the dog?

He's been drinking a lot of water and has to pee often. Gotten much worse over last couple days. Couple times last day or so he hasn't even scratched at door, just let loose inside.

This seems to be going down a path with every step more expensive. If you can't give a good answer we'll just call it off.

What I mean is, if it's just not reasonable to answer without speaking to us, then we'll withdraw the question.

what can we tell you about the situation?
Dog Veterinarian: DocPaul, Veterinarian replied 6 months ago

It is not that it unreasonable but it will be much much faster to go through everything by phone. The problem list is a long one:

Renal disease

Lameness

Back pain

Incontinence

PU/PD

Each of these has a differential list

And I need to assess him neurologically which means I need you to help- much easier to cover by phone

He's not lame, gets along fine on flat ground, just has trouble going down stairs/ some trouble going up. My husband thinks his eyesight is going.
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
Renal disease is only my suspicion, not confirmed.
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
that's it?
