Prince 3 old Maltese started holding left front paw up , no yelping I can touch it but still hanging?

I am sorry to hear you are worried about Prince. If he won't put any weight on the leg, it must hurt somewhere. He could have a pinched nerve, a sprain, a broken toe. Not yelping does not mean it does not hurt; if it did't hurt he would be using it.

He might even just have a torn toenail, which can be hard to see.

If I could examine him, I would work my way from toenails to shoulder, try to feel for any warmth, swelling, or sensitive areas.

Do you have any pain medication previously prescribed for him? How much does he weigh?
