Hello

When did you first notice symptoms from Siba?

When is the last time that he ate? Is he eating at all?

The last few days no I don’t think so I’d tried to give him some meat but he didn’t eat it

Not that I’ve seen I don’t think so

Ok, in a young pit bull, itching and hair loss is usually either due to fleas or demodex (mites). However, neither of these usually cause such severe lethargy or decreased appetite as you are describing.

Lethargy and decrease appetite are very non-specific symptoms and can be related to many different medical conditions that affect dogs. In this case, Siba, will need a hands on examination by your family veterinarian, blood work (chemistry profile & CBC) and urinalysis as an initial screening test to determine the exact underlying cause. Treatment will be based on exam and test results. If cost is a concern I would look into your local ASPCA or Shelter where they often offer veterinary services at a lower cost.

My dog ate a tampon on Sunday, and threw it up on Monday. He somehow got into the trash can again on Tuesday, and threw it up today, followed by some white foam throw up. Should I be concerned? I have been reading that as long as he's thrown it up he's okay, but I'm concerned about dehydration. He hasn't had any diarrhea and pooped normally this morning, and aside from a tiny bit of lethargy immediately after vomiting, is at his regular energy levels/personality. … read more
