In 12 hours, my 8 yr. old Great Dane has gone from her usual active self to what looks like flu symptoms. She hasn't been outside or around other animals. Her neck is swollen, she's shaking a bit, and is extremely lethargic. She won't eat or drink and has urinated only once in 24 hours. She's hot, like she has a fever and a runny nose. Her eyes are a bit red and heavy-lidded. She has absolutely no history of illne

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. It could be an infection. The Expert will know what to do. What is the dog's name?

Lola

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Lola?

No. She's normal.

Have you witnessed any vomiting or diarrhea?

Have there been any changes to the diet? New food, including a change of flavors or protein source within the same brand? New treats? Bones? Has any human food been fed? Torn up toys or trash? Stressful changes to the environment?

Are you able to take her temperature?

I asked this question at 10:30 last night. I see you responded at 1:30 am. I had gone to bed by then, hoping Lola would make it through the night. She did, but still seems the same. I'm about to leave to take her to her vet.
