My miniature schnauzer ate...

My miniature schnauzer ate some bread this morning. She vomited in the afternoon and again in the evening. I took a look at the bread and noticed it had pieces of raisins in it which I know can be toxic. She weighs about 20-23 pounds. Her nose is dry, but her gums are pink. She was energetic throughout the day and her appetite was the same. Should I take her into the 24 emergency vet?

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. Did you see what your miniature schnauzer ate?

Yes, she ate some bread, not a lot that had pieces of raisins. Maybe about three total.

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about your miniature schnauzer?

I don’t think so, like what kind of information.

Hi

Dr. Paul Brazzell here

NO you dont have to go to the ER

Cooked raisins are NOT toxic

She likely is sick because she ate a lot of bread and has a bit of a food bloat and gastritis

Do you have some Zantac at home?

Paul
