I am sorry about Rabbit. Was there anything that change based far as diet or treats? Any stress in the home that would caused diarrhea?
Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Nicole, Dog Veterinarian replied 7 months ago
I imagine because he has a very sensitive stomach that he is probably on a pretty strict diet. I would keep it very simple and don't offer him any new treats etc. If the pumpkin is not working then I would recommend giving him some original metamucil. How much does he weigh and I can give you an amount?

Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Nicole, Dog Veterinarian replied 7 months ago
As far as the blood, if it was just a small amount and is not getting worse then it can often present in pets with diarrhea from the irrigation in the colon. Just make sure that it's not getting worse. You can also try a probiotic like Purina fortiflora. It is very palatable and easy to give, just mix with food .

He weighs 11 pounds.

We introduced new treats a week ago but stopped giving them when he first showed signs of upset.
Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Nicole, Dog Veterinarian replied 7 months ago
you can give 5 mg pepcid AC for stomach upset and 1/4-1/3 tsp metamucil. Do not get the flavored kind.
Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Nicole, Dog Veterinarian replied 7 months ago
Pepcid can be given every 12-24 hours.
Fortiflora can be purchased online or at a pet store. It comes in packets.

Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Nicole, Dog Veterinarian replied 7 months ago
Sorry for the delay. I didn't know you sent that message so late. So along with the meds...yes you can do low sodium chicken broth, chicken , rice. All in small amounts. How are things going today?
