Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. Could be a lot of things that cause lethargy. The Expert will know how to help the dog. Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about the dog?

I am sorry you are worried about your Weimaraner. Labored breathing is concerning.

If you lift his lip, are his gums pink in color or pale?

Is he nose breathing or mouth breathing?

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Dog Veterinarian: Rebecca, Dog Veterinarian replied 5 months ago

Can you take his temperature with a rectal thermometer? Normal is 101.5. A fever could cause him to breathe harder.

Is he being treated for Lyme disease?

They r pink... and i dont think i have a thermometer
Dog Veterinarian: Rebecca, Dog Veterinarian replied 5 months ago

Good that his gums are pink; that is a good sign. Is he mouth breathing or nose breathing?

Is he eating?

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question

I am worried about an older dog having labored breathing, and not eating. Both are signs of possibly serious disease in an older dog. The best thing would be an exam by a veterinarian, listening with a stethoscope, and possibly a chest Xray.

He usually sleeps with me... but last night he slept on my laundry? Doesnt seem that wierd. But its completely out of character
Dog Veterinarian: Rebecca, Dog Veterinarian replied 5 months ago

He looks depressed in the picture; thanks for sending it. He probably should see a veterinarian as soon as possible.
