Hi JaCustomer,

Welcome to Just Answer. My name is Jane. I have been involved professionally with dogs in the healthcare and behavioral fields for over 20 years. I’ve worked as a Vet Assistant and Behaviorist and have extensive experience in dog reproduction, as a breeder, for even longer than that.. Canine behavioral issues and training are also my specialties. It will be my pleasure to work with you today.

There are various organizations that may have funds available to help with vet care. Let me give you these first so you can start applying to each of them. Funds are limited and it can take some time to hear back from them but it is worth trying them. I'll discuss more options after giving you the list.

Now different vets charge different prices. It might be worth applying for care credit and searching around for a vet that has a more reasonable price for the surgery. Prices vary greatly even from vets in the same town so definitely check around. Some vets will allow payments even if you do not qualify for care credit. In some cases, a vet will allow you to sign your dog over to them in order to save the dog's life. That is not an optimal choice but your dog does receive treatment.

In any case, a second opinion would be a good idea. If you can get her records fairly quickly you could take her to a vet on the following site who should offer a free first visit. These vets may offer a free initial visit though you may have to pay for extra procedures and medications. Since she has had testing done already, it should not cost anything else. See the next one for the coupons.
