I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. Please let me know if you still need help. May I have an update on your dog, please?

If concurrent with an enlarged and firm vulva, her bleeding would indicate the initial stage of her estrus cycle called proestrus. This is when male dogs will be attracted to her but she wouldn't stand for breeding. Proestrus has an average length of 9 days with a range of 0 -17 days.

If, instead, she had a heat 1-3 months ago and there's pus admixed in the blood, purulent endometriosis (pyometra) is present and she would need the attetnion of her vet at your earliest convenience. These dogs are quite ill, however - inappetent and drinking excessively.

How much is this service? pomeranian / dog / 9 years old /
I have taken her to numerous vets. All have mixed input at what she may have which I think is probably a vaginal hyperplasia. Prior to learning about this condition I was very confused between a prolapse and a hyperplasia. She is beyond a prolapse. A very seasoned vet stated all I needed to do was for her to get spayed and the tissue mass would resolve itself. Other, younger vets stated they needed to get a board certified surgeon to do cosmetic on her vagina in addition to a spay and they wanted to run all kinds of tests, and xrays. My question is if I present pictures can't a DVM look at that picture and give a PROBABLE hypothesis that it is a hyperplasia? … read more
