Customer Question
I have a bull...

I have a bull terrier. He started having very loose stool and going often a day or two ago. Now this morning he just threw up.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. Hopefully it didn't make a mess. Did the Bull Terrier eat anything unusual?

No. I noticed it seemed to start after I gave him a little turkey deli meat. I ate it and haven't gotten sick and that was a couple of days ago. Yesterday he was out of food so I bought a new bag of Blue Buffalo which is what he always eats.

Veterinarian's Assistant: OK. The Expert will know what to do. What is the Bull Terrier's name and age?

Teddy. I think he's 4 or 5. He is a rescue dog I've had for about two years. He was heartworm positive when I got him and was treated. I also notice he seems to sound stopped up when he's breathing when he sleeps. There is a 24 hour vet near by, not sure if I should take him up there.

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Teddy?

No, just the kind of labored breathing

I am sorry you are concerned about Teddy. I see he vomited; is he eating and drinking now?

The labored breathing only happens when he is asleep? He breathes normally when awake? If you lift his lip to look at his gums, are they pink in color, or pale? If they seem pale, I would get him to a 24 hour vet.

I hope you are able to see what I wrote; I have not heard from you! Please let me know if this was helpful and if you have any other questions, and how he is doing.

I took him to the vet. They think it's an infection in his digestive system and gave him a shot for nausea and antibiotics. I was not aware this was a monthly service and I want it cancelled. Thank you.
