First we need to determine if she is constipated or if her large intestine is inflamed which would make the stool soft or liquid and she would feel like she has to have a bowel movement even if the colon is empty. So they keep posturing to go even if the colon is empty.

If she is constipated she would have very dry, tiny, or extra large stools.

Thank you for the info.We ended up driving down to Roseville to an emergency animal hospital. We had, years ago, used this Hospital to help us with another of our beloved companions who was in difficulty. They were great as before. They giardia test and it was negative.Blood work(including a chemistry panel, electrolights ,complete blood count, venous blood gas, clotting times)was performed and was unremarkable. She an injection of Cerenia, another injection of Famotidine, and fluids under the skin to help with hydration. She given medications--1. OTC-Pepid AC 10mg tablets 2.Metronidazole #10.5 3.Sucralfate 1 gram tablets. If this seems right then we are good.If there is something here that worries you please get back

That sounds perfect to me. As long as they told you to feed a bland diet as well.
