HCTZ is a diuretic we dose to dogs at up to 1 mg/lb. 25 mg would be quite an overdose for a 1.5 lb dog and so it would be prudent to induce emsis with 2.5 mL (1/2 of a measuring teaspoon) of 3% hydrogen peroxide given with an eyedropper placed between Hidie's cheek teeth and cheek. She should vomit within 15 minutes. If not, please repeat the same dose. Inducing emesis is predicated upon her ingesting the pill within the last hour. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.

Acute overdosages may cause elcetrolyte and water balance problems, central nervous system effects (lethargy to coma and seizures), and gastrointetinal effects (hypermotility, inappetence, vomiting and/or diarrhea).
