I have welsh corgi...

I have welsh corgi who is 13-she is having stomach issues-pooping bloody mucus stuff, sometimes she won't eat.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. What is the dog's name?

Sassy

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Sassy?

When her stomach gets upset then she goes out & eats grass, maybe that is the other way around

Hi.

Dr. Paul Brazzell here

I would be happy to help you!

This is most likely acute colitis.

We can manage it at home BUT if the signs do not resolve or she develops vomiting or stops eating then she should be examined.

Here is what we will do today:

No food till tomorrow AM

The feed cooked hamburger and rice with two tablespoons canned pumpkin per meal

Give Zantac at 1.0 mg/kg by mouth three times a day to settle stomach

Offer lots of fresh water

Update me this evening

Okay?

Paul
