I accidentally gave my dog a double dose of doxycycline within two hours

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. What seems to be the problem with your dog?

I gave it to her and then, not realizing I gave it to her, another family member gave it to her within a couple hours

Veterinarian's Assistant: Where does your dog seem to hurt?

It's one of the meds she takes for sinusitis

Veterinarian's Assistant: Can you see anything that looks wrong or different?

Not yet, she just took the meds

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is your dog eating normally?

She already ate :)

Veterinarian's Assistant: OK, abnormal eating. The Expert will know if your dog will be able to digest that. What is the dog's name?

Hello. My name is***** and I am a veterinarian that can answer your question. I understand Coco got 2 doses of doxycycline. This should be OK. Common side effects may be upset stomach, but the meal she had will help to buffer that. Continue to give the medication as directed and contact your veterinarian about filling an extra dose as you will be one short. I hope that helps.
