He's falling over a lot hes only about 2 months old

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. What is the matter with the dog?

He started having diarhea about a week ago but I noticed yesterday he would take about two steps and fall down

Veterinarian's Assistant: Where does the dog seem to hurt?

I can't find any one area that hurts I've felts around his ears, his spine, his legs, she doesn't show any discomfort anywhere in particular he just can't walk

Veterinarian's Assistant: OK. No obvious pain. Have you looked to see if there is a wound on their foot?

Yes there is nothing About 30 minutes ago I was watching him have a bowel movement and he fell forward all the way to his neck and just balanced there he ended up getting poop on his foot bacause he couldn't control it

Veterinarian's Assistant: The Expert will know what to do. What is the dog's name?

Bubba

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Bubba?

He has horrible gas, he can run you out of the room.........but i'm not sure if the swollen tummy & falling have anything to do with the other I'm afraid maybe we got into something around the house that has poisoned him

Is he still having diarrhea? Any vomiting? Is he eating? What kind of dog is he?
Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
its not really diarhea its more loose stool...........Its really lose after eating but then today its been a little more solid.......
His gas smells awful. no Vomiting at all He has been eating pedigree small breed because thats what I feed my yorkie, but I went today and bought some benefial to see if that might help some
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
I did put some flea medicine on him about a week ago or so.......Im hoping it didn't poison him.........
Dog Veterinarian: Alexis Solis, Dog Veterinarian replied 5 months ago
I’m glad the stool seems to be getting more firm. And him not vomiting is a good sign.
How old is your puppy as what kind of dog is he?
Do you know the name of the flea medication?
Some flea/tick products can cause upset tummies however if you applied it a week ago the side effects would likely not still be affecting him
Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
he is about 6-8 weeks old He is a Rare blue Beagle

Dog Veterinarian: Alexis Solis, Dog Veterinarian replied 5 months ago
Again I’m not convinced the flea medication is the cause of his symptoms. With puppies I’m always concerned of low blood sugar which can make them weak and sometimes fall over. Next time he falls over I’d recommend rubbing some Karo syrup (pancake syrup) or Honey in his mouth. If his blood sugar is the cause of him falling over he should perk right back up by giving him sugar.
Other things I think about is infectious causes so I recommend vaccines if not vaccinated.

ok He also tumbles when he jumps off the sofa and sometimes fall on his head.........But nothing seems to hurt...He is a very short legged puppy with a very big tummy, probably distended........Would it help if I gave him some pepto for his tummy?
Dog Veterinarian: Alexis Solis, Dog Veterinarian replied 5 months ago
puppies can be clumsy for sure! A distended belly is sometimes a sign of worms. Most pet store and of course vets will have dewormers available.
I normally dont recommend pepto but you can give Pepcid AC to your puppy which is a relatively safe over the counter medicine to help settle stomachs! How much does he weight? I would also recommend a bland diet for a few days. Boiled chicken and white rice is easy on their tummies
Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
Ok I'll do that Hes maybe 4 pounds
Dog Veterinarian: Alexis Solis, Dog Veterinarian replied 5 months ago
Ok he can get Pepcid AC (active ingredient is Famodine 20mg) give 1/4 tablet once daily along with bland diet.
If clinical signs continue I would definitely have him seen by your local veterinarian!
