Hello I am Dr. Joey. Thanks for asking your question and trusting me to help you and your pet today. I am a licensed veterinarian with over 17 years of experience. Great to ask about this.

A one time vomit is not necessarily concerning. Perhaps she ate a leaf or something else before eating that irritated her stomach. The foamy saliva-looking fluid is not necessarily concerning. If this vomit occurred before she ate her meal, then this can happen in young dogs due to sour stomach from an empty stomach.

Now what would be concerning is if the vomiting continued (she has 2 or more vomits overnight) or develops diarrhea. These would be signs to have her seen right away tomorrow. With concern for bloat what you would see is dry heaving without any production of vomitus; and her stomach may appear distended. Most dogs are painful and lethargic with this. This would be a medical emergency and you should have her seen right away.

For now, though, I would recommend monitor and see if anything progresses this evening.

I am at a point I need to know what questions you have. I hope that the information I provided has been helpful.

Please let me know if for any reason you need further clarification, have more questions, or were expecting a different type of answer.
