Customer Question

He threw up last night because he ate too fast. Now he's coughing up blood. He's a 3 year old lab.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. What sort of animal are we talking about?
Customer: 3 year old yellow Labrador
JA: Maybe I'm confused. I thought you had a problem with a pet. Is that correct?
Customer: Yes. My dog.
JA: The Expert will know if your Labrador will be able to digest that. What is the Labrador's name?
Customer: His name is jax.
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Jax?
Customer: He's never done this before. He's thrown up but never blood

I'm sorry to hear of this with Jax. You mentioned vomiting as well as coughing. Please clarify which is accompanied with blood.

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
The coughing is when the blood comes.
Customer: replied 12 months ago.
The vomit was whole food. So he ate too fast.
Customer: replied 12 months ago.
He weighs between 120-140 pounds. It was cooked meat from the cold meats at the pet store

Thank you. Hemoptysis is a danger sign for quite a few disorders. These include anticoagulant rodenticide poisoning (important), neoplasia - primary or metastatic, pulmonary or tracheal (uncommon in a 3 year old), fungal or bacterial pneumonia, parasitic infection (predicated upon where Jax has lived), lung lobe torsion (uncommon but serious), heartworm infection, and congestive heart failure. Whichever is present, please consider hemoptysis otentially life-threatening and have Jax attended to by his vet at your earliest convenience. Please continue our conversation if you wish.
