Felicity here with 4.5 month old Gladys by my side. Gladys…

Customer Question
Hi there. Felicity here...

Hi there. Felicity here with 4.5 month old Gladys by my side. Gladys is a black Labrador x Boarder Collie dog. My enquire is, how and where can I have Gladys registered as a medical assistant dog. I am aware that she must be at least two years old and well trained. The interesting thing is that Gladys is already picking up on my hypoglycaemic status, and has been for several weeks now. She (Gladys) acts or makes out character actions or noises, often annoying to alert me. Of course I check my glucose levels and bingo she is right. My levels are low. I have been an insulin dependant for nearly 50 years and am becoming less aware of hypo's, so my dogs awareness is a great advantage. Part of my hope and decision to commit to her. Do you have any info or help to offer. Oh, the Diabetic Paws group were very unhelpful. Thanks in advance Felicity R.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sorry your Labrador has that. The Expert will know what to do. What is the Labrador's name?

Hi again. My dogs name is ***** ***** I, the human, owner, is a diabetic. I would like info on how to have my dog become a medical assistant dog.

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Gladys?

No, she is now fully immunised and is health and joyful.
