Hello again,

Basically your Malamute should be just fine, however I have worked out a fuller answer for you below.

1. Please don't give this a second thought, this will not be toxic to your dog and there are no special precautions you need take other than just keeping an eye on her. You see Cosequin and Glucosamine for that matter are more food supplements than drugs and as such they have a very high margin of safety in the dog. I have know dogs swallow a great many of these types of pills and not show any adverse effects of any kind. That said a few dogs may perhaps suffer a mild transient bout of vomiting and or diarrhoea purely because of the sudden ingestion of a rich unaccustomed food source, but really I would not expect worse than that, and in any case should this occur it would be likely to be a minor matter which should just pass on it's own.

2. But in any case I should be available online for you the next four or five hours today so please do not hesitate to get straight back to me in the very unlikely eventuality that your Malamute's condition changes in any way or you would like to talk things over with me further.

Regards,

Dr Scott
