I am sorry to hear that Teddy ingested a 40mg Vyvanse.

In short it is critical that you have him seen by a veterinarian and likely admitted to a veterinary hospital as soon as possible.

Dogs do not tolerate amphetamines well, and possible effects of ingestion include: agitation, dilated pupils, tremors, seizures, high blood pressure, very fast heart rate, vomiting, diarrhea, drooling, and panting.

Signs of toxicity can occur at 1 mg/kg in dogs, dangerous clinical signs (seizures) can be seen at 10 mg/kg.

If he is 10 pounds he is 4.54kgs. If he ingested 40mgs he ingested 8.8mgs per kg of body weight. (40mgs/4.54kgs = 8.8mgs/kg). That is very near a highly toxic level.

Please do not delay in having someone have him seen by a veterinarian on an emergency basis.
