Thank you!!

The ingredients in this compound are as follows:

Active Ingredient: Menthol (2%). Inactive Ingredients: Ammonium Hydroxide,Carbomer, Cupric Sulfate, Fd&C Blue 1, Isopropyl Alcohol, Magnesium Sulfate,Sodium Hydroxide, Thymol, Water.

What is bothersome is that ammonium and sodium hydroxide can both be very irritating to the GI tract....as well as menthol and alcohol...

my concern is severe gastritis which could result in an ulcer and possible toxicity....you need to take your dog to an ER tonight for treatment.

Please let me know if I can assist further.....DRB

The only vet that is open is a little over an hour away since I live in a small town. How long do I have before things get serious?

The GI stuff needs to be dealt with now......go to that vet.....let them treat your dog....the longer you wait the worse the prognosis.....

On my way thanks

Your dog should get gastroprotectants, IV fluids and bloodwork...

I'm looking at the container and it looks like it was a few licks, not 2 tablespoons worth. Now what? Is she still in that much danger? I am dressing and ready to go. She is running and eating ice cubes.

If you think it was only 2 licks then in all likelihood your dog will be fine...but If any vomiting starts or any GI distress of any type see your vet asap....

What would he a GI distress?

lack of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea or any change in behavior at all....

Last question, within how many minutes or hours should I be looking for these signs?

Usually within 2 hours typically unless enough consumed to cause toxicity which it does not sound like that is the case...
