I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. is your Lab otherwise normal in between these episodes? Can be be distracted while he's in these "trances"? If so, he's likely to be smelling pheromones (chemicals secreted by other members of his species) which communicate between the members. Obsessive compulsive disorder and complex partial seizures are less likely but important considerations if this behavior couldn't be interrupted.

I can distract him with treats or any other way, but he just do smell/sniff on the ground or sofa or wherever he basically sit. But, after a while of this behavior, he stops and either sleep or do something else. What do you mean by pheromones of his species? I dont have other dogs in my place.
Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Michael Salkin, Veterinarian replied 10 months ago

These pheromones can come from dogs far from your home. The very sensitive nose of dogs allows them to detect them. Because he's otherwise well, his behavior should be considered normal. I don't see a need for a vet's attention. Please continue our conversation if you wish.
