Customer Question
Hello, my 13 year...

Hello, my 13 year old pitbull stopped eating 24 hours ago. She is vomiting a lot after long tremors (the longest lasteD about 30 mins ). She is having some mucus come of her nose, eyes and mouth after the tremors are done. She has always had tremors but they last only about 5 mins. She has a hard time opening her mouth. I tried different ways to help her drink water but she can't even do that. Is she dying?

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully it didn't make a mess. Did the dog eat anything unusual?

No, she stopped eating dry food 1 week ago, so I added soft dog food. But she didn't want it. So I started giving her rice 1 week ago. Now she doesn't even want that.

Veterinarian's Assistant: OK. The Expert will know what to do. Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about the dog?

No, she has always been a healthy dog a little oversized-90lbs. Her 1st owner had her get pregnant at 6 months, that's when I rescued her. She is now 13 years old and only had one pregnancy And she is neuter/spade

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. Please let me know if you still need help. May I have an update on your pitbull, please?

I can't know if she's dying but she does appear to be profoundly ill and in the need of her vet's attention particularly if she's unable to prehend food or drink water. Inability to open the mouth is usually caused by masseter muscle myositis - an autoimmune disease - but there are quite a few possible disorders that make a dog unable or unwilling to open its mouth.

She is getting worse. She vomited blood once. She is weak, she walks slower today than yesterday. The problem, I don't have the funds for a vet :(

I understand your financial constraints. I wish I could be more helpful for you.
