How much does Bean weigh, please? Doses of 9 mg per pound body weight and lower usually cause mild gastrointestinal disturbances only - transient inappetence, vomiting and/or diarrhea.

8 lbs.

Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Michael Salkin, Veterinarian replied 10 months ago

40 mg/8 lbs = 5 mg/lb and so transient inappetence, vomiting and/or diarrhea might arise but Bean should remain safe. There's no need to induce emesis or treat in any manner. Please respond with further questions or concerns.

Peak levels of this drug are expected 4 hours post-ingestion but the duration of action can extend up to 24 hours.
