But before I can start I need a little more information to make things clearer to me, so could you please confirm the following :

1. I guess Bindi is a female dog ?

Bindi is. Female dog. She had yellow watery mucus like vomit in her crate today. This evening she had blood in her urine. She is a six month old puppy. She may have drank water from a Garden fountain that contains bleach.

Hello again,

Sorry to hear Bindi has this problem, hopefully this is something very minor, however I have worked out an answer for you below.

1. While I cannot be 100% sure via the internet I would say that from my experience that when a dog has blood in the urine you are most likely dealing with is a bladder infection or urinary tract infection { UTI } also called cystitis, the other symptoms you are seeing may be following on from this. If this is the diagnosis then it is usually a very minor disease and easily sorted out. But of course other more rare diagnosis are also possible.

2. The signs of a UTI in the dog would be some or all of the following :

A. Increased frequency of urination.

B. Discomfort or problems passing urine.

C. The urine may be blood tinged or discoloured.

3. What you should do in the meantime is to encourage your dog to drink as much as possible perhaps by giving her dilute milk, but arrange an appointment with your local vet to have her checked over as soon as you can arrange it since this disease normally responds to a course of prescription drugs such as antibiotics, but of course other diagnosis are possible. But in any case I should be available online for you the next four or five hours today so please do not hesitate to get straight back to me if Bindi's condition changes in any way or you would like to talk things over with me further.

Regards,

Dr Scott

Took her to the vet today. She does have an UTI. They said she also seems to be having early onset Heat Cycle. I have never had a dog go into heat at this young age. She is active , but is still straning and excessively trying to pee. There is much more blood tonight than yesterday so I do think she is in a heat cycle.
Dog Veterinarian: Dr Scott Nimmo, Dog Veterinarian replied 7 months ago

She could well be coming into season if she is now six months of age this is very possible, but your main problem will be the UTI, hopefully this will soon come under control with the drugs prescribed by your vet.

Dr Scott
