Only the vitamin D content in these is of concern. Please tell me how many IU of vitamin D are in each pill and how much Kari weighs, please.

It only says vitamin A E and C. It has mineral content of phosphorus, potassium, zinc, calcium, and selenium
Customer reply replied 11 months ago
Kari weighs 80 pounds
Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Michael Salkin, Veterinarian replied 11 months ago

That's good to hear. As with ingesting anything unusual transient gastrointestinal distress in the form of inappetence, vomiting and/or diarrhea can arise but Kari wasn't intoxicated. A one time ingestion of those vitamins and minerals in such a large dog shouldn't cause any significant signs. There's no need to induce emesis or treat in any manner. Please respond with further questions or concerns.

She however is nursing puppies of 3 weeks. Any concerns there
Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Michael Salkin, Veterinarian replied 11 months ago

Possibly. Vitamin E is only marginally transported across the placenta. Safety to nursing offspring with vitamin A isn't known. Vitamin C is water soluble and excesses are simply urinated away. I'm not aware of any studies of those minerals and their ability to be transported across the placenta. Please continue our conversation if you wish.
