Customer Question
I think he has...

I think he has worms. The whipped worm. Does that sound right? Symptoms bloody stole and he trying so hard. He is inflamed there. It's like clear goo on the poo. And he's been vomiting. I'm sure he becoming dehydrated. I can't afford to go to ER unfortunately. I have to wait until tomorrow. I'm laying with him and I'm not sure if he's shaking bc I'm sitting with him next to his kennel. Can I stretch this until tomorrow and what can I do to help relieve him? I did put natural hemorrhoid cream on there. He's a small cocka poo 15lbs. I think he's about 2-3 years. Someone left him on the streets. I rescued him and no one claimed him and I've kept him. He now is my Service Animal. He's been through a lot. I know none of his history except he's a well mannered dog w/good demeanor. I kenneling him so he doesn't leak everywhere.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'm sorry to hear that. This sounds like it might be serious. I'll let the Veterinarian know what's going on ASAP. Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about the Cockapoo?

His body must be in pain bc he's shaking

Hi there,

Whipworms are certainly possible, but there are also several other things that can cause blood in the stool. With the vomiting, I am concerned that he will become dehydrated, making his condition worse. The shaking can indicate pain, anxiety, fear, or several other physical issues.

Since he is vomiting and has bloody stool, I would also worry about hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, which can be fatal if not treated aggressively.

As he is a service dog, there is likely a discount associated with care at an emergency facility. I would recommend calling aroud to see if any give a reasonable accommodation for you, so that you can get him evaluated and treated. I would hate to see him suffer overnight with everything he has going on.
