Had some calmoseptine and...

Had some calmoseptine and a & d ointment on my glove. wasn't paying attention and dog licked it off my glove. About quarter size. should i go to vet? he's a 60-pound aussie.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'm sorry to hear that. The Expert will know if the dog will be able to digest that. What is the dog's name?

Evers

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Evers?

Nothing really. it he likes to eat things that he shouldn't.

The ingredents in calmoseptine (menthol, zinc oxide) and A & D ointment (lanolin, petrolatum) are of very low toxicity when ingested. As with ingesting anything unusual transient gastrointestinal distress in the form of inappetence, vomiting and/or diarrhea can arise but Evers wasn't intoxicated and will remain safe. There's no need to induce emesis or treat in any manner. Please respond with further questions or concerns.
