My 16 pound mini dachshund just ate 100 mg of tramadol. I was putting it in cheese for my saint Bernard, accidently dripped it and my mini dachshund ate it. Is he going to be okay?

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'm sorry to hear that. The Expert will know if your dog will be able to digest that. What is the dog's name and age?

Duke and he's 10

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Duke?

when did your dog get the tramadol?

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 11 months ago
About 20 minutes ago. He's acting fine, but I just wanted to make sure he was going to be okay
Dog Veterinarian: Dr B, Veterinarian replied 11 months ago

How old is he and is he healthy?

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 11 months ago
he's healthy and he's 10
Dog Veterinarian: Dr B, Veterinarian replied 11 months ago

ok, in all likelihood he is going to be fine because he did not ingest a toxic dose......but he will get sleepy....watch for odd behaviors like pacing, circling and anything different other than his normal....you will see mild sedation though...
