I"m sorry to hear of this with Bear. Cleansing and wrapping was smart. The pain from such an injury abates quickly and these dogs begin walking normally within a few days. Until that time, a narcotic analgesic such as tramadol prescribed by Bear's vet can be very helpful. Seeing his vet will also give the vet an opportunity to evaluate your care and perhaps prescribe a prescription salve for those pads. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
