I understand that you are concerned about Opi ingesting 0.3125mgs (1/4 of a 1.25mg tablet) of Vetmedin (pimobendan) not meant for him.

This drug is used in dogs with heart failure to strengthen heart muscle function.

A usual dose is 0.23mg/lb of body weight per day or 3.45mgs for a 15 pound pup, roughly 1/10th of the dose he ingested. This drug should not be given to dogs with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, or aortic stenosis but if he otherwise healthy this small dose is not likely to have any effects on him. In fact I suspect that you won't notice anything different about him. The drug should be mostly metabolized out of his system within the next 24 hours.

If he remains normal through tomorrow evening I would expect you can stop worrying at all.

If he is panting heavily, seems weak, or has a racing heart rate you should have him seen on an emergency basis, but I highly doubt that will happen.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello, I wanted to make sure that you didn't have any further questions for me, and I'd like to know how things turned out for your pup. If you could give me an update that would be great, thank you, ***** *****
