Hello, I'm Dr. Deb and will do my best to help with this concern about Mystic.

Fortunately, a one time, double dose of this sort isn't likely to cause her any issues. This sort of mistake happens quite frequently and in most cases, the patient isn't going to suffer any adverse consequences from receiving an additional dose of medication.

I'd restart your normal schedule tomorrow, 24 hours after her last dose.

I hope this helps to reassure you about her. Deb

Thank you. That is very calming to know. I also gave her Cerenia this morning and again 12 hours later. 60 mg total. Will the two of them together make things worse?
Customer reply replied 11 months ago
She's very sick and on a few medications. 2 every 24 hrs (Cerenia & Amlodipine) and 2 every 12 hours (Prilosec and Clavamox).

You're more than welcome.

I wouldn't expect any drug interactions between Cerenia and Amlodipine nor with the other medications you mentioned.

The Cerenia was a double dose too. I'm afraid with the double of both the Amlodipine and Cerenia, it may be a problem. If not, I will just go back to bed and stop staring at her all night. I'm sick to my stomach over this. So far, you have really helped to make me feel a little better and I appreciate it so much.

Glad I can help:)

Accidents like this happen all the time although I know you feel horrible about this; but fortunately, she didn't receive a toxic amount of medication. As for the extra dose of Cerenia, tolerance has been confirmed in doses of up to 3X the recommended dose so you should be able to rest easy tonight.
