She just threw up again, its mostly yellow, and orange from some carrots I gave her. She stopped shaking as much since she threw up again. She wasn't able to go to the bathroom a bit ago, just pushed

Vomiting in dogs can be due to many things including:
1. gastroenteritis (inflammation/ irritation/ infection of gastro-intestinal tract)
2. dietary indiscretion
3. foreign body obstruction
4. pancreatitis (infection of pancreas gland)
5. organ/ endocrine abnormality
6. cancer in older dogs

We typically shoot x-rays to rule out an obstruction and run bloodwork to rule out pancreatitis and organ disease.

The majority of cases will be due to a non-specific gastroenteritis and conservative care at home can often relieve the signs. Pancreatitis is very possible as it usually occurs after a high fat meal.

I would get some bloodwork to rule it out and then either hospitalize if positive or do some sub Q fluids, anti-nausea meds and antibiotics (Metronidazole) if it's negative.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

ok, I have an appointment at the vet tonight but its for an emergency cost. Do you think I could monitor her tonight? or do you think its an emergency? anything else I can do at home?
Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Gary, Dog Veterinarian replied 8 months ago

With that continued vomiting, I would go in tonight and get this taken care of. These little guys can dehydrate rather quickly, so I wouldn't want to wait until tomorrow.
