Hi, i`m Richard, a Veterinarian from the UK. Hopefully I can help today.

Has she had any deworming treatment recently?

no

Did the "worms" you saw look like little white squares or rectangles rather than white string?

I will not use the so called call feature. I pay a subscription monthly. Why do I want to pay any additional fees? Does this mean I expect to receive sub par advise and or information?

I`m sorry you feel that way, I am unable to offer a phone call from the UK anyway. That phone call is generated automatically. I`m sorry you feel my advice will be sub-par. I wish you luck and hopefully one of the other experts will be able to help you.

I'll follow up for Dr. Rawling for you. Yes, those flat worms are segments of tapeworms - Dipylidium caninum (the "flea tapeworm") is most likely and contracted by ingesting a flea containing a larval tapeworm. You can purchase an over the counter product* containing praziquantel where pet supplies are sold or online and one dose will do the trick. Be sure to enforce your flea control measures or Saddie can end up with another tapeworm in just 30 days. Please continue our conversation if you wish.

I didn't claim your advise (which you haven't offered any) is sub par. I just asked a question. Since I pay a subscription fee every month, that should be all I am required to pay, right? Yet the "call me" pops up every time I ask a question.

I believe you're still addressing Dr. Rawling who has opted out of the conversation. Please see my post timestamped 11:19AM (my time) which addresses your concerns. That phone solicitation is an automatic one made by the site. Many veterinarians including myself (Dr. Salkin) aren't allowed to speak by phoneto speak to customers in this venue by our veterinary governing bodies. Please ignore the solicitation and continue our conversation if you wish.

The previous reply was meant tor the "first vet". I have her on a Topical anti flea medication, monthly.

Yes, I suspected so as I posted above your last post. Our messages crossed. I'm pleased to hear that she's being administered a flea preventative. It takes only one ingested flea for my patient to contract a tapeworm.

Thank you for your kind accept. I appreciate it. You may receive an inappropriate follow-up from the site ostensibly sent by me. It wasn't and I apologize in advance should you receive it.
