Customer Question
My 4 year old...

My 4 year old golden retriever swims every day. Will putting colloidal silver into his ears afterward help prevent ear infections or problems? What are the risks? Thanks!

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'm sorry to hear that. There are all sorts of infections the Golden Retriever can pick up. I'll have you talk to the Veterinarian who'll sort out what is wrong and help you decide what to do about it. What is the Golden Retriever's name?

Hero

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Hero?

No - he's very healthy, happy.

I am glad to hear your Golden Retriever gets to swim every day.

Swimming should not really cause ear infections. Dogs shaking their heads is a very effective way to shake excess water out of the ears.

The only risk with colloidal silver is using too much; silver is toxic at high enough doses.

If my dog swam every day, I would just look in his ears from time to time to see if there is any swelling or discharge. The most common cause of ear infections in dogs is allergies.

Please let me know what other questions you may have and if this is helpful!
