Customer Question

I think my two dogs put there nose (and yes they were licking their lips) got into some Amdro I put out this am. I was reading what to do.
The post I was reading was pretty old, should I still give milk and then hydrogen peroxide??
Thanks for advise...

Milk isn't necessary but you can induce emesis with 3% hydrogen peroxide dosed at 5 mL (one measuring teaspoon) per 5 pounds of body weight (maximum dose of 45 mL) with a small poultry baster placed between their cheek teeth and cheek. They should vomit within 15 minutes. If not, repeat the same dose. Which Amdro product was it and how much do you estimate they ingested?

Oops just saw this maybe 2tablespoonsbetween a 45 # border collie and a 13 yorkie, Amdro fire ant bait, gave border collie a cup of milk and yorkie 1/2 cup, both seem fine

Thank you. The fire ant bait contains hydramethylnon - a very low toxicity pyrethroid. There's a good chance that no treatment at all will suffice. Transient vomiting and agitation are possible and would arise within an hour of ingestion. Please continue our conversation if you wish.

It's been almost two hours and they both are acting normal (debatable I am sure!). Thx so much!!
