Here are the details: My dog is a 4 year old Yorkie. 2 years
Here are the details: My dog is a 4 year old Yorkie. 2 years ago he had a stroke and he can't move his front right leg and he controls his back right leg about 70%. About a year ago he started having some difficulty breathing as if he was congested (all seemed to be in his nose). The X rays show his respiratory system (lungs, trachea and nose normal) although there is a little curving on his spine at the trachea area caused by the weight of the leg he can't move, but it is minimal. His blood work shows his triglycerides very high so a week ago the doctor recommended a change in the diet (to only chicken and rice - no treats), he also prescribed an expectorant syrup and an antibiotic. He seems to be doing a little better but he still sounds as if he had heavy nose congestion. He still snores a lot. Also in the X-Rays the doctor said his heart was enlarged. He recommended that if in one more week he is not getting better we could do an ultrasound to see what could be causing his breathing problem. There is no secretion from his nose and he doesn't scratch his nose too much at all. Any ideas? thank you … read more
