Customer Question

A normally very active puppy who was outside for a while and now she can't seem to get on her feet and when she tries to get up her head shakes
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Could be a lot of things that cause lethargy. The Veterinarian will know how to help the puppy. What is the puppy's name?

Any history of trauma? Were you watching her outside? What color are her gums? She may have low blood sugar. Try rubbing some karo syrup or honey on her gums.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
She is only 10- 12 weeks old . She seems almost immobile
Expert:  Dr. Gabby replied 3 months ago.

Okay so put some karo syrup or honey or pancake syrup in her mouth.

If she has low blood sugar she will perk up in 10 minutes.

If she does not perk up with that then take her to the Er right away.

If it is not low blood sugar it is something more serious that calls for an emergency exam by a vet right away.

It is tough to say the cause if it is not low blood sugar and without examining her.

But start with the karo syrup or honey or pancake syrup.

And if no improvement then off to the ER clinic.

If the ER vet is far away then put the syrup in her mouth and start driving to the ER vet.

If she perks up with the syrup in a few minutes you can turn around and go back home.

Does that make sense? Do you have any other questions?
