I have a mouse issue here in the home... I also have 5 dogs

Customer Question

I have a mouse issue here in the home... I also have 5 dogs all under 30 lbs.. I don't know what to do other than put out some poison for these mice..... but worried also if one of the dogs might eat a dead one. or do mice usually go back to their den to die?
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Did you see what the dog ate?
Customer: no, they didn't eat any yet............. i just wonder if a dead mouse would have enough poison in it to hurt one of my dogs
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about your dog?
Customer: one is 14 and a bichon., 1 is 11 and a cockachon, 2 are 10 both bichons and one is a morkie 3 yrs old

Instead of mouse poison have you considered the old fashioned traps?

Because yes if one of your dogs ate the dead mouse they could get poisoned.

I have been using glue traps. I guess I need to make a trip to Home Depot for the snap type ones

That last one says for rodents too

Expert:  Dr. Meghan Denney replied 4 months ago.

Yes I think that is the best call given how many pups you have. Mice are frustrating to get rid of.
