My dog has not pooped all day today. Yesterday she pooped

Customer Question

My dog has not pooped all day today. Yesterday she pooped twice at 11pm and her stool was covered in mucus. She also threw up last night too. No other issues today acting fine.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully it didn't make a mess. Did your dog eat anything unusual?
Customer: No she did not. I have been feeding her oatmeal and chicken today which she eats up right away
JA: What is the dog's name and age?
Customer: Charley, female, about 7 years old
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Charley?
Customer: No that's it

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your wee one’s situation, and wanted to help.

Again I do apologize that my colleagues could not aid you sooner, but can you tell me:

Is she straining like she needs to pass stool?

If you press on her belly, any tensing, tenderness, discomfort, or pain?

Could she have eaten anything she should not have (ie bones, toys, plants, chemicals, human meds, etc)?

Can she keep water down?

Are her gums pink or white/pale? Moist or sticky?
