Dosing of benazepril has a wide range of up to 0.25 mg/lb twice daily or a total of 5 mg for Rattzy daily. 10 mg is an overdose but overdoses of ACE inhibitors such as benazepril are generally well-tolerated with GI disturbances (inappetence, vomiting and/or diarrhea) the most likely adverse effects. We don't see the serious adverse effects of hypotension, renal dysfunction, or hyperkalemia (increased serum potassium) until much large doses are ingested and usually over quite a few days.

I wouldn't induce emesis or treat in any manner and I would expect Rattzy to remain safe. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.

Thank you so much. I feel much better. We almost lost her in June from the Ehrlich a.
