Is there a device to pull a dog out of the water if he falls off a bulkhead
JA: I'll do all I can to help. What seems to be the problem with the dog?
Customer: He walks on my bulkhead looking at the swans, ducks so scared he will fall in
JA: Have you looked to see if there is a wound on their foot?
Customer: No wound just wants to play with the ducks afraid he will fall into bay
JA: What is the dog's name and age?
Customer: Tahoe pit bull boxer mix 4 years old
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Tahoe?
Customer: No u r not answering my question

My name is***** I am here to answer your question. I am not aware of a dog specific devise to pull a dog out of the bay, such as a dog life ring. But I do recommend a life vest if you are concerned. Dogs tend to adjust to them nicely. Then you can either use a hook type object to pull him out by the vest, or you can reach down and use the handle to pull him out. The ones I recommend are from Ruff Wear http://www.ruffwear.com/K9-float-coat?sc=2&category=694

I have use cheap ones as well, but they tear with any repeated pulling on the handle. I've had no problems with the Ruffwear brand.

It may be something that he will have to everytime he is on the bulkhead. If there are times he is inside only, you can take it off.

Thank u very much the dog weighs 75 lbs the life vest won't let him urinate we already have the one u reccomeend

There are a couple of other brands that look good. I haven't seen them in person though. The Kong company seems to have a good one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KI2NB3I/ref=twister_B00KI2NBFG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

The other option would be just a climbing vest. It would give you a handle, but wouldn't give him any help with floating. http://www.ruffwear.com/Web-Master-Pro-Harness?sc=2&category=1131

Would that work?

I really don't know will try to investigate thank you very much for all your input

Does he pee on the Ruff Wear one? Is there a way to reposition it?

The alternative, is to be very sure that he has a way to get back up. Is there an easy access for him to get back in?
