Hi this is Dr Hill. I need to ask a couple of questions. Is Star spayed? Has she been eating normally? Has she been drinking more water than normal?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
No she is not spayed and she is eating yes she has been drinking more water than normal

So Star likely has what is called a pyometra, which means a bacterial infection in her uterus. This is basically an abscess in her uterus and can be life threatening. She needs to be seen by a veterinarian today to get her started on antibiotics and ideally spayed. In many cases, antibiotics alone are not enough to completely clear the infection. If the infection does not resolve then she is at risk of developing a systemic bacterial infection (sepsis) and acute kidney failure. She really should be evaluated today.

Were you able to get Star seen today? Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Take care.

Yeah she's been seen it's a lump growing there it's not an infection
Customer: replied 9 months ago.
She's had a needle that should hopefully bring down the swelling and he advised me to have her spayed before her next season

That is great news! Glad she does not have a uterine infection.
