Hi, I'm Dr. Bonk. I'm sorry to hear about Sadie's troubles. Pumpkin is a great supplement to help with constipation. For a dog her size, you could feed her about 1 heaping TBSP per day divided with her meals. Make sure you use just the regular canned pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling.

You can also try giving her some vaseline. About 1/8 cup given every 4-6 hours until she has a bowel movement. Exercise after giving also helps.

If she does not have a bowel movement for 3-4 days, appears bloated or uncomfortable, or starts vomiting, it would be time to see a vet.

I hope this helps. Please contact me with any further questions you may have. Thank you and good luck!
