Hello and thank you for using this site to help you.

How long has this been going on?

Is Opie up to date on shots and worming?

When did he last eat?

Has there been any vomiting or diarrhea?

What color are his gums?

Does Opie eat any non food items such as rawhides, toys, bones, greenies, clothing etc?

Did you change his food at a ll?

Does he eat any human food and if so what?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Started today.
Going to get his first set of shots in 2 weeks. Wormed 2-3 weeks ago.
He ate yesterday.
No vomiting or diarrhea
Gums are a light pink.
He tries to eat everything, he just chewed a stuffed cat up yesterday.
No chage in his diet.
He doesn't eat human food.

Oh he keeps burping

Thank you for that information.

I am worried about the toy he chewed as this can cause an obstruction of the bowel.

An obstruction would show lack of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy. At this point he has two of the symptoms. You can wait and see if he improves or you can get him into your vet for an x ray for a blockage.

If you take the wait and see approach, I would not feed him anything for 24 hours and then start a bland diet of boiled chicken and cooked white rice. If he refuses that or cannot hold it down then make sure to get into your Vet.

Make sure water is available to him at all times.

Keep an eye on the gum color, if it goes pale or white do not hesitate to seek Veterinary care.

Check his temperature rectally. Normal for dogs is 100.5 to 102.5. If there is a fever then do not hesitate to see your Vet.
