My dog ate a portion of a steel wool pad yesterday about 11

Customer Question

my dog ate a portion of a steel wool pad yesterday about 11 am. She started throwing up about 30 minutes ago and has thrown up 4 times now.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. The Veterinarian will know if your dog will be able to digest that. What is the dog's name and age?
Customer: Rosemary - 7 months old pug
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Rosemary?
Customer: She literally eats everything she sees - it's impossible to keep up with her - maybe she ate a plant, but I know i saw her run off with a pad and I was able to get most of it back from her but i know she ate some

My name is***** and I am sorry to hear that Rosemary eats everything in sight.

First- for tonight-

-remove all food and water. Dogs often over-drink after vomiting and this makes them more nauseous.

-Once the vomiting stops, you can start offering small amounts (about 1/2 cup at a time) of water once every 30 minutes.

-If there is still no vomiting, you can offer normal breakfast.

If she continues vomiting overnight, she needs to go to your vet first thing in the morning. I would be worried about a blockage of her intestines or pancreatitis.
