Customer Question

My mothers dog has a huge belly (she's fixed) and swollen legs really bad? I'm going to the vet on Monday but is there anything I can do now?

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your wee one’s situation, and wanted to help.

Again I do apologize that my colleagues could not aid you sooner, but can you tell me:

Is her belly firm, hard, tender to the touch, or feel fluidy?

Any known health issues?

Are her gums pink, yellow tinted, or pale/white?

Any changes to her breathing?

Any chance of injury or toxin ingestion?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
She was Euthanized, she had a heart murmur and the Dr said it would be more human to euthanize her in her condition. Happened about one hour after my vague question!
Expert:  Dr. B. replied 10 months ago.

The poor love, still if she was suffering with a heart issue then that may have been the kindest option for her.

Since we weren't able to aid you, I will send this question back to customer service.

Please take care,

Dr. B.
