Hi there... I'm Dr. Deb,

Some dogs are just quiet dogs, and don't bark much, if at all. So, this is not necessarily anything to worry about.

If it's only been a short time since he's been in your home, some dogs take time to become comfortable and confident enough to start talking. Sometimes, it just takes time.

I would only start to worry about it if he's acting lethargic, if his appetite decreases, he loses weight, or if has any vomiting or diarrhea.

But, Hounds can be lazy dogs in general. But he's young and should want to play some and have some young dog energy.

As long as he's eating, drinking, and normal in every other way, I wouldn't worry about it. He's likely just a quiet dog.

I hope this helps
