I have a chihuahua and he is acting like he is hurting under

Customer Question

I have a chihuahua and he is acting like he is hurting under his belly. If you try to touch him there he moves away from you and he pulls himself across the floor on his belly. Could he be constipated?

Hi, this is Dr. Hill. Acting painful when the abdomen is touched can be a sign of abdominal pain or back pain. The fact that he is pulling himself across the floor almost completely rules out back pain. Does he get any high fat treats or people food? Did he eat his normal breakfast this morning? Does he chew on anything that he could have ingested? Please answer these questions so that I can give you a more thoughtful answer. thank you
